Creativity and Instructional Strategies of GT Units: The Seven Deadly Sins and Criminal Minds (Update)
Tchrs, K-12
Description: In the Seven Deadly Sins Synthesis project students complete photographic representations of each sin and its opposing virtue while providing feedback using visual literacy terminology, symbolism, and social analysis. In addition to photographs, the project consists of final media presentations and written components. This provides a truly unique perspective of society by creating and supporting interest in pop culture and technology. The Criminal Mind unit creates mock crimes while students serve in special investigative units to profile the killer and solve the crime. This particular unit was designed alongside students. The unit also includes learning the art of handwriting analysis, behavior profiling, and assigns students a research project where they complete a psychological profile of an author or artist using their completed works.
